This tactile and aromatic art piece introduces us to the journey of the olive harvest.

It starts from the early hours of the morning when the workers intertwine with the trees in the arduous task of ‘milking’ their fruit. Each page explores the different stages of the process transiting from the ground to the sky repeatedly to underline our connection with the earthly and the heavenly.

RESEARCH AND HANDMADE PROCESS BEHIND

The production of this artwork is purely and consciously artisanal as my aim is to bring a very unique piece to the table.

All photographs were taken with an old Asahi Pentax KX 35mm, which works manually, as I pursued to mimic the laborious manual process behind the collection of table olives.

This artwork is hand painted, hand cut and hand bound because hands imprint love, passion and dedication to everything we make.

Each edition is personalised and contains notes and memorabilia related to my family, olive trees, myths and historical places in connection with the Mediterranean culture.
